Connect your Microsoft calendar and Teams

Keep your busy times off the booking page and put each session on your calendar.

Before you start: your workspace needs Microsoft sign-in set up first, with the calendar permissions added. See Set up Microsoft sign-in.

Each member connects their own Microsoft calendar once. Clients are then offered no time you are busy, and every booking with you goes on your calendar.

Before you start

Your calendar connects through your workspace’s Microsoft app. The owner sets that app up under Settings on the Sign-in tab. Until then, your Profile says the app is not set up yet.

The app needs two delegated permissions, Calendars.ReadWrite and offline_access, with admin consent. It uses the same redirect URI as Sign in with Microsoft. No second redirect URI is needed.

Connect your calendar

  1. Open your account menu and choose Profile.

  2. In the Calendar card, choose Connect your Microsoft calendar.

  3. Sign in to Microsoft and allow the request.

Debut reads when you are busy every few minutes. It reads the times only, never what the meetings are.

Choose which calendars count

Once connected, the card lists your own calendars.

  • Tick Counts as busy for each calendar whose events should block time.

  • Pick one calendar under Bookings go on. A calendar marked read only cannot take bookings.

Choose Save calendars. Calendars someone shares with you are not listed.

Teams meetings

When your workspace meets by Microsoft Teams, each booking goes on your calendar with a Teams meeting. The owner or an admin picks this under Settings on the Workspace tab, in Onboarding sessions.

  • The event on your calendar has no attendees, so Outlook invites nobody.

  • The client’s invitation comes from Debut, from your address, with the join link in it.

  • Moving a booking moves the same event, so the link stays the same.

  • Canceling a booking removes the event.

If the connection stops working

If Microsoft stops accepting the connection, it is disconnected. Your Profile says when and why. Until you connect again, clients can be offered times you are busy, and bookings carry no Teams link. You are reminded by email once a week.

To fix it, choose Reconnect or Connect your Microsoft calendar on your Profile. To stop, choose Disconnect.

A booking always stands, even when your calendar is not connected. The client’s email then says the meeting link will follow from you.
