The Credentials tab is the ledger of every login the client depends on. It proves the old provider is locked out. Debut never stores a password.
How a credential counts
A credential counts only when it is received, verified and rotated. The bar at the top counts rotated credentials.
Waiting on and the provider’s name means the old provider still holds it.
Received means it was handed over but not yet changed.
Planned means a rotation is set for a time or a condition, such as With cutover.
Rotated means it was changed, so nobody who held it before can use it.
Blocked means something is in the way, with how many days.
The chips filter the ledger. The right of the summary shows the lockout date, which you set on the Setup tab.
Add credentials
Add standard credentials ticks through your workspace’s usual list. Say how many of each the client has.
Add credentials adds one at a time or a pasted list, one system per line.
Under From a spreadsheet, upload an Excel or CSV file. Use Download the template for an Excel workbook with drop-down choices.
For a client linked to its Hudu company, a column headed Password is sent straight to Hudu and never kept in Debut. Hudu needs Practice or Firm.
Move a credential along
Select a credential, or Rotate next to open the most pressing one.
Select Mark received when it is handed over.
Say how you checked it, then select Mark verified.
Say what changed, then select Mark rotated.
Use Save plan to set a time or a condition, and Mark blocked to say what is in the way. Received, verified and rotated each have an Undo. Every step goes on the client’s record.
When the credential is linked to a Hudu entry, it is marked rotated when its password changes in Hudu.
The standard credentials list
Owners and admins keep the usual list in Settings › Credentials under Standard credentials list. Tick Each site for items asked for at every office, such as a firewall.
Who sees what
No one sees a password in Debut. The grant decides who sees where each credential is filed in the vault.
Vault references only shows that a credential exists, its state and its dates.
Sees values · logged also shows the vault item to open. Every view is logged.
Owners and admins always see vault references. An owner or admin grants it to others on the member’s page in Settings › Team.
Select Evidence report for the whole ledger as one page. Print it, or save it as a PDF, to hand to the client.
Remove a credential
Open it and select Remove from the ledger. This works only for a credential filed by mistake. Once it is received, verified or rotated, it stays.
