On Firm, your clients’ portal links can use an address of yours, such as portal.yourfirm.com. Until then, links use your BaselineZero portal address on baselinezero.io.
Add your address
Go to Settings › Branding and find Portal address.
Enter a name under a domain you control in Address, such as portal.yourfirm.com. Your bare domain will not work.
Press Save.
Add the DNS records
The card shows three records. Add each one where your domain’s DNS is hosted. Copy the values from the card, since they are yours alone.
A TXT record that proves the domain is yours.
A TXT record that lets our hosting issue your certificate.
A CNAME record that sends visitors to your portal. Point it straight at the value shown, not at another name of yours.
We check every five minutes. Press Check now to check straight away. Each record shows found or not found yet.
What the status means
Waiting for records means the records are not all there yet.
Verified · one record still to add means the domain is yours and the certificate record is still missing.
Certificate on its way usually takes a few minutes, and up to twenty.
Live means your clients’ links now open your address.
A record went missing means one record was removed. Put it back and the address keeps working.
Needs attention shows the error from the certificate step. We try again on every check.
What your clients see
Before your address is live, links use your BaselineZero address. Once it is live, every new link uses your address. Opening your address on its own shows a front door in your logo and colors.
Change or remove it
Open Change or remove the address on the card. Change starts over with a new name. Remove this address sends your clients’ links back to your BaselineZero address.
Use a subdomain you do not need for anything else. The CNAME record points that whole name at your portal.
