Draft your first onboarding plan

Describe a takeover in a sentence and Debut drafts the plan from your template.

An onboarding is one client’s move to you: its plan, its people and their sessions. You can draft it from a sentence or build it by hand.

Draft it from a sentence

  1. On the desk, describe the takeover in a sentence. Include the client, its size, who you take over from and how long you have.

  2. Choose Draft the plan. Debut picks one of your templates and fits it to what you wrote.

  3. Check What Debut assumed. Correct anything that is wrong.

  4. Fill in or check Client name, Kick-off date and Lead engineer.

  5. When you take over from another provider, add the Outgoing provider and the Lockout target, the day their access ends.

  6. Choose Approve the plan.

Drafting from a sentence uses AI, which is part of Practice and Firm.

Build it by hand

Choose Build it by hand, or go to Clients › New onboarding. Pick a template, fill in the client name, kick-off date and lead engineer, and choose Create onboarding.
